He attended Bowie State University for his Undergrad and both Capital Bible Seminary and Liberty University for his Graduate education. In 2006, after a successful career in Television Production and Broadcast education, he was hired by Zion Church. In 2011, the Senior Pastor, Keith Battle, promoted Pastor James as the Lead Pastor of the Landover Campus. It was later discovered that this role was an under utilization of Pastor James’ gifting and in 2014, in addition to being the Lead Pastor of the Landover Campus, he was promoted as the Executive Pastor of the entire church. Pastor James now oversees all staff, ministry, and administrative operations of Zion Church’s four locations and over 8,000 regular attenders. In addition, Pastor James is quickly becoming one of the most sought after Pastoral Pre-Marital Counselors in the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area. He passionately equips hundreds of couples each year with the tools necessary to start and maintain healthy marriages. Pastor James is also the host of Zion’s radio broadcast, “Weekly Wisdom with Pastor Keith Battle”. The broadcast has been rated as one of the top Sunday Morning broadcast in the Washington D.C. radio market and currently airs on Sunday Mornings on Majic 102.3 and WPGC 95.5. In addition to these radio stations, Pastor James is a regular guest on WHUR 96.3, Howard University Radio.
